150 attendees participate in the annual Life Beyond Cancer Retreat program. Female cancer survivors, oncology social workers, nurses and physicians come together to enjoy nature, fellowship and workshops presented on topics that will help survivors Get Well and Live Well. This year’s program is about learning how survivors can recover and renew their lives. By the end of the retreat our goal is for every survivor to have their own “personal care plan” to take home as their map, the beginning of their next journey. We also want to equip healthcare providers to be able to deliver new ideas for aiding their patients to a life beyond cancer.

Q: How can I attend the retreat?
A: We are able to accomodate 150 particpants and we look for a diverse and dynamic group of cancer survivors and providers, so there is an application and review/selection process. Applications will be available online from Sept 1st – 30th. Applicants will receive notification of their acceptance through email by October 7th. Prospective participants who are accepted will then be able to complete the registration process online immediately thereafter. Here is the process:

Selected Applicants & Providers/Survivors within the LBC ’Providers for Survivors Network’ will be sent instructions through email starting October 7th
Q: What does it cost to participate?
A: Prospective participants who are accepted and register to attend only pay $200 total thanks to our sponsors (over a $1,000 value!). At this time participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements and cost to and from Lakeway Resort and Spa in Austin, TX. If you’ve already paid an application fee of $50 then registration is $150. See chart:
Q: What is included in the retreat program package?
A: Not only will participants take advantage of great materials, speakers and fellowship (as well as tools/skill to take back to their communities!) but the cost is inclusive of:

a 3 day/2 night stay at Lakeway Resort and Spa in Austin, TX

meals with beverage and snacks throughout the retreat programming

optional wellness activities (Meditation Walk/Hike on Green Belt, and/or Suset Yoga at Sunset Pool or Vista Balcon)
Q: What about my travel, getting ‘to’ and ‘from’ the retreat?
A: Prospective participants are responsible for making and managing their own travel arranagements and costs associated to and from the retreat in Austin, TX at Lakeway Resort and Spa.
Q: If I am not selected to attend the retreat is there any way I can still participate and/or benefit from the retreat?
A: YES! We will be streaming video on our Facebook and we’ll also have bloggers and “super tweeters” posting up a storm with information, tips, tools and more LIVE from the retreat! Check back to our website and Facebook page in November for special promos just for applying!
Q: If I am not selected to attend will I get a refund on my application fee?
A: YES! We are excited to announce that Life Beyond Cancer Foundation will refund application fees for any applicants who are not selected to attend the Life Beyond Cancer Survivor Retreat Nov 18-20! Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and the tremendous applicants we’ve seen this year, we want to make sure that survivors and providers are able to focus on health and healing, and not financial constraints that take away from the power of knowledge and hope.
